Newington Armory

One of the great things about living at Newington (the 2000 Sydney Olympic athelete's village) is that you are surrounded by cycle tracks and walking tracks that continue right past places like the Newington Armory. The Newington Armory is formerly the Royal Australian Naval Armament Depot (RANAD) and features over 100 heritage buildings

The Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) have been organising more and more events at the Armory. For example, there's "ARTEXPRESS at the Armory", there's The Great Escape 3 day festival over Easter weekend (with bands such as silverchair, Bernard Fanning, Eskimo Joe and many more), and there's "Acoustica at the Armory" featuring performers such as Jenny Morris, Dragon, former Olympian Paul Greene, Brett Hunt, and Elliot Weston and Welter.
