CSS font-family

Also see the full, alphabetical list of CSS properties

The CSS font-family property allows you to specify a prioritized list of font family names (for example, 'times' or 'arial') and/or generic family names (for example, 'serif' or 'sans-serif'). If a font has a space in it, you need to surround it with double quotes (for example, "Times New Roman").

Tip: Use CSS font to set the most common font properties in one go.

Syntax: font-family: <family-name>, <generic-family>
Possible Values:
  • <family-name>
  • <generic-family>
  • inherit
Initial Value: Depends on user agent
Applies to: All elements
Inherited: Yes
Media: Visual
Example: p {font-family: fantasy, cursive, Serif;}
Try it yourself!
